Singular is the foremost
open-source software system for computations related to singularity
theory, and is about to reach its 40th anniversary.
This workshop will focus on Singularities and Computer Algebra in a
broad sense, encompassing both a retrospective and a future prospective of Singular.
A pivotal person in these developments is
Hans Schönemann, who has devoted a large part of his mathematical life to this
computer algebra system. Hans worked in close collaboration with Gert-Martin Greuel, Gerhard Pfister and Wolfram Decker: together being the great minds behind Singular.
